Hello!
First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Gary Horrie. This is the site
for my solo music... aka "ZD2". I pretty much have
my own home recording studio. Everything is recorded and mastered digitally by
me. Yes, it may sound funny, but it's all true. It's me writing, playing & recording
everything myself. What's up with that you ask? Well, nothing really. I have
been in the music industry for many years & over those years picked up some
other skills along the way. I've always been fortunate enough to play with some
the best musicians around which I'm sure some things have rubbed off onto me.
I
will also be having some special guests appearing on some
of my songs in the near future from other local bands.
Getcha new tunes right here... -08/26/08 Ok... I've actually got an on-line store here. If ya like what ya hear, please donate! It's only .99¢!! And... you get a nice quality MP3 that you can call your own! :) I've got a couple new tunes just about ready for release in addition to what you see below. The first song is called "Day of Rest", which features the vocal stylings of Sean Rennau (original StepDown singer). The next song is called "Owned" which is quite a departure from what you've heard thus far.... can't even begin to describe what that one is like. The next is called "Fell Apart" which will be the heaviest song yet that you've heard thus far from me. Also, be sure to request my tunes on "Local Anesthetic" on 105.7 the X Rocks on Sunday nights from 8pm-10pm.
Sadly, I had to retire from the Force ... -06/05/08 Well... got some news here. As most everyone knows, I've been truckin' it down to Nashville to play with Hot Action Cop. It's been an awesome time playing & getting to know everyone in the band as well as all of the other bands we've played with & people I've met over that time.
Any one can guess how tough it is to be from Central Illinois & be in a band in Nashville, TN. Unfortunately, due to rising gas prices, a 7 hours driving distance one way, medical bills from my surgery, mortgage, wife & 2 kids, among other things, I've been put in a rather difficult position. I held in there as long as I could. But the time had come to make a tough choice, so I'm turning in my badge. It sucks, but I gotta do it. They're still one of my favorite bands & I'm honored to have played with them for as long as I did. Their new stuff is KILLER & if it ever gets released will be hit. Much more mature & VERY well written/recorded. Wish I could have been on it. Shit, I would have played the triangle. Would prefer cowbell of course, but anything would have been cool. Miles tore that shit up tho! It's all good.
Rob is an awesome dude all around. Very genuine, very intelligent. Probably the best song writer I've ever known & had the pleasure to work with. Love him like a brutha. Timmy too. Very cool, down to earth dude. Juan tho... just kiddin'. Juan is the life of the party. Everyone likes Juan, jeesh. And Buddies Baker... oh no... let me go. jk. Thanks for everything Baker!! Anyway, to the band, like I said... I wish you guys the best!
Keep checking back to see what the next chapter will be for me...... MAHAHAHAHAAAAAA.
BTW, me & an old friend of mine have teamed up on an upcoming song release. I got my old StepDown singer Sean to lay some vocals on a tune called "Day of Rest". It'll be posted as soon as the mixing is done. It's turned out GREAT so far. That's all for now...
Peace out,
Ex-Hot Action Law Enforcement Offer
Gary Shaine Horrie

N' JUSTICE have announced that former SKID
ROW frontman Sebastian Bach will be

"Another Nail", which was co-written by Bach, Mike
Layne, Justin Murr, and Keri Kelli (VINCE NEIL, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT,
ADLER'S APPETITE). The track also features Keri Kelli
on guitar, former STRYPER member Tim Gaines
on bass, and Gary Horrie on
drums.
LIBERTY
N' JUSTICE have announced 15 of the 16 singers that
will appear on the upcoming CD, including Stephen Pearcy (RATT),
Tony Harnell (TNT), Oni Logan (LYNCH MOB), Ted Poley (DANGER
DANGER), Leif Garrett, Jamie Rowe (GUARDIAN, ADRIANGALE),
Mike Lee (BARREN CROSS), Dale Thompson (BRIDE), Joe Cerisano
(SILVER CONDOR), Scott Wenzell (WHITE CROSS), Phil Naro (TALAS),

STEPDOWN...
-10/30/05 Well, as many of you
may have know, the Shake is undergoing some renovations. Mike,
Ryan and myself are leaving as of Jan 1st, 2006. However,
Mike & I have formed a group called "StepDown"
that we are starting to fill out more shows with. This group's
current line-up also includes Ryan Rose (temporarily) &
Cody Barra (aka: CFB). Most of my writing focus will be put
forth in this project.
The
Shake will continue on with Rod Teaney & other members
starting Jan. 1. Until then, we will be doing double duty
with both bands. Check out each bands website or PeoriaOnTap.com
for show dates!
A
little recording... -6/07/05 Well, I'm very exited
to announce that just finished recording a drum track at the
NoiseGate
Studio in Pekin, IL for a song that will be on the compilation
cd "Liberty
'n Justice - A Soundtrack of a Soul". The tune is
called "Another Nail" and features some
great players. On bass will be the Tim Gaines, former bassist
from Stryper. On guitar will be the guitarist Keri Kelli (Vince
Neil, Slashes Snakepit). And on vocals.... well, I'm not sure
if I'm at "Liberty" to say or not. But I assure
you that it is one of the best and most known "Metal"
singers from the 80's/90's era hands down. Not to mention,
one of my favorite singers of all time. I'll have to check
with my sources before I let that cat out of the bag. This
CD has also got some pretty killer singers lined up such as:
Oni Logan - Lynch Mob, Stephen Pearcy - Ratt, Tony Harnell
- TnT, Leif Garrett and others. Stay tuned hear who the mystery
singer is!! Check the Liberty
'n Justice website for more info.

Dimebag
Darrell RIP... -12/08/04 The metal scene glooms
today as we find that one of the forming founders of Pantera,
Dimebag Darrell was gunned down during a performance in
Columbus, OH. Dimebag was one of the greatest metal guitarist & inspired
countless musicians. He'll be missed greatly. PeoriaOnTap.com has
a Pantera poll, go check it out & chime in. RIP Dime.
Gary
Leaves Braille... -12/01/04 Yep,
unfortunately, the time has come for me to leave Braille.
I have decided to take a position in another local cover
band,
The
Shake. I will miss my brothers Josh & Slim and
leave them on good terms. I had a great time in the band.
I will be finishing out the
rest
of the year with the band. So go check out the Braille website
for dates & come see the last few shows if possible.
Braille does have a drummer lined up to step right in,
so there should be no downtime. I'm sure it will still
be very much ROCKIN'!
Braille

A
Few Samples... -07/07/04 Despite the
lacks of updates here on the site, I've still been
hard at work on material. There just not enough
time in the day for everything I need to do. I
did get a few hours to track some of my latest
ideas. So here ya go. Keep in mind, these are still
rough mixes & only samples of what is to come
here.
New Tune... -01/03/04 It's here. The new ZD2 song "Not
Too Late" is finished! Check it out at the link to the left.
Be sure to let me know what you think. Also, the lyrics are now up for the two
latest songs. You can find them on the Music page.
Yet another song release... -01/02/04 Well,
I hope everyone had a great New Year! Yes, that's right! I've almost got another
song complete & ready for release. If all goes as planned, it should be up
by late Sunday. I don't want to rush it, but the music, & lyrics are done.
I'm in the process of re-recording the vocals right now, & if my voice is
kind to me, everything will be in final mix down Saturday. This song is entitled "Not
Too Late". I should have lyrics for both of the new
songs up by the first of the week too. Since the recording quality has vastly
improved since my previous recordings, you can look for them to be redone in
the near future as well.
What's
been up?-12/25/03
Well, I'm glad you asked! Very much has been going on, so much, I have
no clue how I keep up with myself. First of all, I recently became a
father to Avyan Shaine Horrie on Dec. 8th, 2003. Since then, very little
sleep has been had at my home, but well worth it.
Secondly,
I just finished another song entitled "In
The End" and yes, you can check it out
right here! Many other songs are being recorded as you read
this, so there should be plenty more coming soon! So check
out the song & give me some feedback!
Braille:
on hiatus....-12/15/03
That's right, a short, well deserved break for the
band. Have no fear though, the band will probably return
very soon refreshed and ready to
kick the Spring time in the ass. In the meantime, I am going to try to
get many of my songs recorded & try to catch up on a lot of other
things as well. Be sure to visit the Braille website
often for the latest updates!
